(CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) On September 25, 2014 at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Englehart Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a three vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 11, just south of Kirbyson Road in Englehart.
A northbound tractor trailer was approaching a northbound unlit farm tractor towing a hay wagon, and a southbound Honda automobile. The tractor trailer entered the southbound lane upon approaching the unlit farm tractor when the collision occurred. Following the collision, the farm tractor fled the scene.
Through investigation, all three vehicles sustained damages, and the driver of the Honda, a 57 year-old woman of Elk Lake sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Driver of the farm tractor, Daniel TOUPIN, 24, of Hilliard Township is charged for Improper lights on farm vehicle – section 62(27) of the Highway Traffic Act and Fail to Remain – section 200(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.
TOUPIN is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on October 31, 2014.
