THREE IMPAIRED DRIVERS ARRESTED AND CHARGED IN ESSEX COUNTY

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex County was able to take three impaired drivers off the road over the course of the weekend.

In the first incident on December 6, 2013 at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers on patrol in Tecumseh observed a GMC vehicle run through a red light at the intersection of Manning Road and Essex County Road 42.

The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested and charged with Driving with More Than 80 milligrams of Alcohol in Blood.

Wesley BENNETT, age 34 of Chatham, will appear in a Windsor court on January 7, 2014.

In a second incident, on December 7, 2013 at approximately 6:40 p.m., police received several traffic complaints regarding a grey Ford vehicle that was travelling significantly under the posted speed limit on Essex County Road 22 in Lakeshore.

Officers located the vehicle and the driver exhibited signs of impairment. Diane VANDENDRIESSCHE, age 65 of Lakeshore, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood. She will appear in a Windsor court on January 9, 2014.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, officers in the Town of Essex stopped a black GMC vehicle on Alice Street after almost striking a fence.

The male driver exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving with More Than 80 milligrams of Alcohol in Blood.

Kevin JENNER, age 24 of Lakeshore will appear in a Windsor court on December 18, 2013.
