(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) On Friday October 11, 2013 at approximately 10:56 pm, officers from the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) set up a R.I.D.E. Program on Highway 89 at Pike Lake Road in the Town of Minto. The male driver of a 2007 GMC pickup truck entered the program and showed signs of alcohol consumption.
Thomas COWAN age 52 of the Town of Minto has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on October 29, 2013 to answer to the charges.
His driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of 7 days.
