Thomas BROWN – Drunk Driving

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 59 year old man for a number of offences following a report of a possible intoxicated driver.

On Friday August 8, 2014 shortly after 1:00 am, police were advised of a possible impaired driver in the Rabbit Lake area of Kenora. Police located the subject vehicle shortly after and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop for police and after following the vehicle at a low rate of speed for less than a kilometre with emergency equipment activated, police were able to stop the vehicle. The driver was determined to have been consuming alcohol and was placed under arrest and transported for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, Thomas BROWN of Kenora, has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle With More than .80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code(CC), Impaired Driving (section 253(1)(a) CC) and Fail to Stop for Police contrary to section 216 of the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Kenora Court on September 18, 2014 to answer to the charges.
