Teens Charged In Theft And Cruelty To Animals Incident – Names Released

(HEARST, ON) – During the past three weeks, the James Bay Detachments Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Hearst has been investigating criminal activity at a local hobby farm.

Police have charged two persons in relation to the theft.

Jordan PROULX, 19, of Hearst, Ontario has been charged with the following offences:

Two counts of Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) CC

Two counts of Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited contrary to section 2(1)(a)(i) of the Trespass to Property Act (TPA)

Oceanne DASTOUS, 18, of Hearst, Ontario has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) CC and Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada CC.

Both accused persons are scheduled to appear at the Hearst Ontario Court of Justice on December 14, 2016.
