(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex County was busy this past weekend enforcing Criminal Code Driving offences.
The OPP arrested four impaired drivers, one in each of four municipalities, Lakeshore, Tecumseh, Kingsville and Leamington, Ontario over the three day period.
One arrest involved a single motor vehicle collision and another driver was arrested while driving with two young children in the vehicle.
All parties have been released from custody and will appear in area courtrooms to answer to the charges.

“Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unquestionably a serious Criminal Code offence and when you make that choice to include young children in your vehicle, you are clearly demonstrating your lack of good decision making and common sense. If you think that you won’t get caught by the police or your driving behaviour won’t be witnessed by a concerned citizen, you are wrong. You all are aware of the options available; don’t let one of those be in the rear of an OPP cruiser going to see a breathalyzer technician.”
