Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 17 year old Malahide Township teen with Careless driving after he was involved in a collision with a tractor trailer around 5:40pm on March 18, 2014.
At the time of the collision a tractor trailer was travelling west on Talbot Line (Hwy#3) near Walker Road and was in the process of turning right into a private driveway when it was rear ended by a west bound 2003 Dodge Car being driven by the 17 year old male.
The driver of the car was transported to hospital with minor injuries and later released. A 16 year old male passenger, also from Malahide, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released.
The driver of the tractor trailer, a 21 year old Stirback Manitoba man, was not injured in the collision.
The Dodge car sustained severe damage to the right front area while the trailer sustained minor damage to the left rear area.
As a result of the police investigation the driver of the car has been charged with;
Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
G1 Driver contravene conditions of Licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
