Taxes Going Up Unspeakable Amount – Vincent Blocks Access To Public Info

At the 04Jan2016 North Huron council meeting, Reeve Neil Vincent stated that the draft Huron County budget increase is the highest he has seen in 9 years. Councilor Trevor Seip seemed perplexed that the county is working on their draft budget already, implying North Huron is way behind again in managing our town. Trevor Seip has proved VERY disappointing over the Wingham Police contract debacle, rubber stamping budgets and staff raises. Some members of the Public use to believe Seip was blessed with common sense and the ability to do simple math, a belief which seems to have been unfounded.

The Huron County increase is so large that Neil Vincent refused to say it out loud, likely due to fears of residents taking up pitch forks and torches at the next council meeting. If you want to know what the increase is, please contact Neil Vincent at (519) 357-2336 or [email protected].

Vincent also commented on the horrid start of our economic development.

You might be saying to yourself, why would Neil Vincent refuse to release this Public information?A councilor had to resort to holding fingers up and asking Vincent if the number of fingers he was holding up was close to this unspeakable increase. That’s right, a councilor had to resort to treating Reeve Vincent like a toddler to get information out of him. Much like asking a toddler how old they are, and they respond by holding fingers up and saying “dis many”.

To be fair, maybe when they communicated the increase to Neil Vincent at the Huron County meeting, they did so by showing him how many fingers to hold up, and he just couldn’t keep those fingers held up until the 04Jan meeting. Thankfully a councilor recognized the intellectual level Neil Vincent was operating at and resorted to tactics that would work with a toddler to facilitate communication.
