Suspicious vehicle

Occurrence #: BA14002519
Date: Friday, January 17, 2014 – 8:45am
Police received an early morning call to a north end public school for a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. When police arrived, a school employee advised that the car had just pulled out and the driver threw an empty beer can out onto the parking lot.

Officers located the vehicle a short distance away in a driveway as the driver was getting out. Officers had conversation with the driver and detected the odour of alcohol. After providing a roadside breath test, the drivers was arrested on reasonable grounds for having care and control of a vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood.

The driver was taken to the station for another breath test and was found to be almost twice the legal limit. The 26 year old Barrie male was released with a future court date.
