Sudden Death – Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a sudden death at a Kent Street North, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, August 17, 2015 at approximately 10:40 a.m., members of the Norfolk County OPP Detachment and Paramedics responded to an emergency 911 call located in Wellington Park.

Upon arrival, police located a 57-year-old male with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The male was subsequently transported to a local area hospital by paramedics where he was pronounced deceased. The death is not being treated as suspicious and no foul play is suspected.

The OPP Forensic Identification Section assisted with the investigation.

Kent Street North was closed for approximately 5 hours to allow for police investigation.
