(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On August 15, 2015 at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted by citizens to a possible impaired driver.
Officers responded to Highbury Avenue North near Medway Road, where a silver Hyundai car had struck the rear of a blue Dodge van. There were no reported injuries in the collision.
Police determined the female driver of the car had been drinking alcohol. She was arrested, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing, which revealed she had consumed more than three times the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the police investigation, 39-year-old Cinamin LECLERC, from North York, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on October 1, 2015.
