(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On November 15, 2014, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers charged three drivers with Racing A Motor Vehicle, on Highway 401, in just over two hours.
Just before 2 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 eastbound near Kent Bridge Road, when the officer observed a Mazda car that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 164 km/hr.
A little over an hour later, just after 3 p.m., a Chevrolet SUV traveling westbound near Harwich Road registered a speed of 156 km/hr.
Then, just before 4:30 p.m., a Lexus car traveling westbound near Communication Road registered a speed of 173 km/hr.
In each instance, the driver’s licence was been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
