Student Arrested At Goderich School After Threat On Social Media

(GODERICH, ON) – A student from Goderich District Collegiate Institute (GDCI) has been charged with Uttering Threats following an incident that took place earlier this week at the high school located on South Street. Over the lunch hour on December 8, 2015 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were notified by school administration that a student had posted a threat on a social media website to cause harm to students & staff.

Officers attended the school and were quickly able to identify and locate the student that made the threat. After further investigation he was arrested and taken into custody.

The 15-year-old male youth was charged with one count of Uttering Threats. He has since been released from custody with an upcoming court appearance scheduled for February 11, 2016 at the Youth Justice Court in Goderich.
