(HALIBURTON, ON) On Wednesday December 9, 2015 officers from the Haliburton Highlands OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a moose. It occurred on Highway 118 at the Muskoka border at approximately 5:00 am.
The Honda Civic was westbound when a moose entered the roadway and was struck. The car sustained severe damage and was located in the north ditch by a passerby.
The lone male occupant was deceased at the scene. Dead is Michael Jackson, 69 of Algonquin Highlands.
Technical Traffic Collision Investigators from the OPP attended along with paramedics and fire department members from Bracebridge.
