DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP

(South Glengarry) – On November 4, 2015 at approximately 7:19pm, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on Old Montreal Road, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of suspected marihuana and hydromorphone pills.

The male driver, Marc MENARD (33) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

A male passenger, James LACOMBE (38) of South Glengarry Township was also arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana)

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on December 9, 2015.

BREACH OF PROBATION

(South Glengarry) – On November 5, 2015 at approximately 1:53am, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. A check of the male driver revealed he was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident (not to be in possession of identification cards with data strip of security chip).

Zabiullah RAHIMI (21) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (7 counts)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on December 9, 2015.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

(South Glengarry) – Overnight (November 3-4, 2015) a vehicle was entered while parked at a residence on Street Road, South Glengarry Township. Inside a laptop computer and a quantity of jewellery and cash were taken.

An investigation continues.
