Stolen Vehicle Recovered Correction

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On April 12, 2015 at 6:48 am West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called about a male acting strange at a business on Bowes Street in Parry Sound. Before Police arrived the male left in a grey car with a female passenger. OPP officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle in Parry Sound.

Investigation into the suspect vehicle identified it as a stolen vehicle from Hamilton Ontario. The driver, Robert THOMAS, 39 years of age from Hamilton was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to the CC.

3. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to the CC.

4. Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).

5. Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The passenger, Naomi KITCHIKAKE, 33 years of age from Wikwemikong First Nations, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Two counts – Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to the CC.

3. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to the CC.

4. Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).

Both accused will appear today for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.
