(Cavan-Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of Highway Safety Division of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 115 yesterday just before 2:30pm. The speeding vehicle was clocked at 139km/h in the posted 100km/h zone near Moore Drive. As the officer moved closer to initiate a traffic stop, it was clear that the driver was busy talking on the phone and was oblivious to the marked OPP cruiser behind her.
Heather Lisa PANZINI (age 30) of Ajax, ON was charged with speeding and driving while using a hand-held communication device. The accused was issued traffic tickets for the two offences.
