(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Sunday April 27, 2014 just before 4:00am Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Highway #11 in the town of Huntsville and observed a Chevrolet Cruise driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was stopped near Rock Road Huntsville. It was found that the driver Navpreet Singh GILL (25yrs) of Brampton was currently a suspended driver. As a result of the traffic stop the driver was also found in possession of a substance believed to be Heroin.
The accused has eventually arrested and charged with, Possession of Schedule I Substance, under the Controlled Drug Substances Act, Fail to Comply with a court order, and Obstruct Peace Officer under the Criminal Code of Canada. He also faces charges under the Highway Traffic Act including speeding and driving while under suspension. He was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Monday April 28, 2014 to answer to his charges.
The passenger Kuldeep Singh GILL (30yrs) of Brampton also faces charges of Possession of a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Drug Substances Act. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville on June 4, 2014 to answer to his charges.
