(CALEDON, ON) – On April 24, 2014 at approximately 9:30 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol in the area of Airport Road and Highway 9. The officers observed a westbound Mitsubishi Eclipse travelling on Highway 9 and noticed that the driver had accelerated at a high rate of speed through the intersection. The officers activated the cruiser’s emergency equipment and conducted a vehicle stop east of Heart Lake Road. The male driver produced the required documents and the officers learned that he was disqualified from driving.
As a result of the officer’s findings, Jordan Daniel BURCH, 29, of Orangeville was arrested for Driving While Disqualified.
The Vehicle Impoundment Program (VIP) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
The male was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 5th, 2014.
