(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) On Saturday March 8, 2014 at about 7:00pm Huntsville OPP detachment officers were on patrol on Highway #117 in Lake of Bays Twp. The officers observed 3 motorized snow vehicles traveling on highway #117, attempted to stop the 3 to confirm proper paperwork and sobriety of the drivers. The third machine a 2011 Yamaha Apex tipped on its side, while the others continued traveling.
Investigation found that the driver Glen SABATINE (58yrs) of Lake of Bays Twp. was found to have been drinking. He was arrested and eventually charged with Having more than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mltrs of blood and will appear in Ontario court of Justice in Huntsville on March 19, 2014 to answer to his charges. He was also issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his snow machine was impounded for 7 days.
