Snowmobile Vs Deer Collision – One Airlifted To Hospital

(Oro-Medonte, ON) – On Thursday, January 21, 2016 at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Oro-Medonte Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a motor vehicle collision (MVC) involving a snowmobile.

Officers attended the snowmobile trail between Line 4 and 5 in Oro-Medonte Twp and were advised that a snowmobile collided with a deer.

The 56 year driver of the snowmobile was air lifted with serious but non-life threatening injuries to a Toronto Area Hospital. The investigating into this MVC is still on going.

The Barrie OPP remind all snowmobile enthusiasts to abide by all the rules of the trail and road that apply to your motor vehicle and to operate them in a safe and courteous manner at all times.
