(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Sunday March 23, 2014 Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment were called to a snowmobile collision that had occurred shortly after midnight on Allen Lake in the Municipality of Dysart et al, Ontario. A male was operating his 2010 Arctic Cat snowmobile with a female passenger when they struck a tree near the shoreline. Kevin FERGUSON, age 35 from Blackstock Ontario succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Tamara MOTHERSILL, age 40 from Peterborough Ontario was air lifted to a Toronto area hospital. The collision is currently under investigation and police are determining if speed and alcohol were contributing factors.
