SINGLE MOTOR VEHICLE ROLLOVER COUNTY ROAD 503

(HALIBURTON, ON) – On November 7, 2014 at approximately 3:30 pm members of the Haliburton Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to a report of a single motor vehicle rollover on County Road 503 north of Furnace Falls in the Township of Minden Hills, Ontario.

Haliburton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as well Minden Hills Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Investigation revealed a 2005 black Chevrolet Trailblazer vehicle was travelling east bound on County Road 503 just east of Dancy Road in the Township of Minden Hills. The vehicle entered into the south ditch and struck a steel culvert and a small wooden log wall causing the vehicle to roll over on its passenger side.

All three occupants were transported to the Minden Hospital by Emergency personnel. The 46 year old male was treated for minor injuries. The 46 year old female passenger was air lifted to Sunnybrook Hospital with serious injuries. In addition a 10 year old female passenger was air lifted to Sick Kids Hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into this collision is still ongoing with the assistance of the Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit. (TTCI)

OPP did have a section of County Road 503 down to one lane for several hours to aid in the investigation of this collision. The road has since been re-opened for traffic.
