(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ON.) – Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Salford Road earlier this morning.
At approximately 7:26 a.m., police responded to the single motor vehicle collision on Salford Road, west of Zenda Line. The vehicle was travelling eastbound on Salford Road when it left the roadway striking an unattended, parked vehicle. The driver was the single occupant in the vehicle.
O.P.P. officers, O.P.P. Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (T.T.C.I.), Mount Elgin Fire department, and Oxford County Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.), were all in attendance to assist with the scene.
The driver, Matthew STOREY 22 years of age of Burgessville was transported to Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll where he was pronounced deceased.
Salford Road will remain closed for approximately an hour.
The O.P.P. will continue with the investigation.
There is no further information available at this time pending results of the investigation.
