(Prince Edward County, ON) On January 09, 2015 the Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward County detachment received a report of a sexual assault. The police investigation revealed that a 16-year old female had been sexually assaulted by a male known to her in the summer of 2014 at a residence in the Ward of Ameliasburgh.
On January 13, 2015 a 32-year old male, Shawn MARTIN of Ameilasburgh was arrested.
The accused is charged with Sexual Assault, contrary to Section 271of the Criminal Code of Canada (x3) and Sexual Exploitation, contrary to Section 153(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x3). The accused was released from police custody on promise to appear and officer in charge undertaking. MARTIN is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on February 4, 2015.
