(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at approximately 1:30 am, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as well as Shuniah Fire Department and Superior North EMS responded to a collision that occurred on Highway 11/17 in the Municipality of Shuniah.
The driver of a GMC truck was east bound on Highway 11/17 when the driver crossed over onto the centre median, continued onto the west bound lanes of traffic and struck a rock cut.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle were transported to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries.
The 35 year old male driver from Surrey, British Columbia was issued an Offence Notice for Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
