(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were kept very busy throughout the day on February 5, 2014. Between 6:30 a.m., to just after 7:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent OPP officers responded to at least 21 motor vehicle collisions and vehicles stuck in the snow along Highway 401 and Highway 40. Most of the incidents involved single vehicle collisions. Minor injuries were reported.
We ask the public to be cautious as Emergency crews are currently working at removing vehicles from the ditch along the highway throughout the day today and tomorrow. Partial lane closures will be in effect periodically to assist with the removal of the vehicles, and to ensure the safety of both the Emergency crews and the public.
