(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two motorists with drinking and driving related offences in recent days.
On the 3rd of December 2014 at approximately 8:00pm, officers received a traffic complaint on Hurontario Street about a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle on First Street where a traffic stop was conducted revealing that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted resulting in a ‘fail’ reading which led to the motorist being arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 48 year-old Darrell KEENIE of Collingwood, he is facing a charge of driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 16th of December 2014.
As well on the 4th of December 2014 shortly before 5:00pm, an officer on patrols conducted a vehicle stop on a motor vehicle for a speeding offence on Grey Road 19 near the 4th Line in The Blue Mountains. Interactions with the driver found that she was under the influence of alcohol and was subjected to a roadside breath test which resulted in a ‘fail’ reading. As such, she was transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 21 year-old Diana GOSTICK of Collingwood. She is facing charges of driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, driving while disqualified and fail to comply with probation order. As well she faces provincial offences charges of drive motor vehicle not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device while prohibited from doing so, young driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero and speeding. She is to appear in Collingwood court on the 18th of December 2014.
