SERIOUS TWO VEHICLE COLLISION CLOSES HALDIMAND ROAD 17

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers were called to a serious two vehicle collision on Haldimand Road 17, near the First Concession.

At approximately 10:05 a.m. Sunday January 19th, 2014, officers were dispatched to the collision. Officers arrived at the scene and were advised that the two lone occupants of each vehicle were injured. A nineteen year old female from Haldimand County was driving a Chevrolet Aveo, was air lifted to St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto with life threatening injuries. A fifty-two year old female from Haldimand County was driving a Honda Civic was transported to the Dunnville Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The collision is still under investigation with the assistance of the West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators. Haldimand Road 17 was closed for several hours for the investigation.
