Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer are currently on scene investigating a two vehicle motor vehicle collision which occurred at approximately 7:30am this morning. The collision occurred on the Hwy#3 Bypass between 1st Ave and Balaclava St. St. Thomas.
Police investigation has revealed that a Chevy car was following a tractor trailer going west bound. The Chevy car pulled out to pass tractor trailer and collided head on with an east bound Mazda car.
The 65 year old female driver (from St. Thomas) of the Chevy car was taken to hospital with life threatening injures.
The driver of the Mazda car, a 35 year old female from London, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The Hwy #3 Bypass remains closed until later this afternoon as OPP Technical Traffic collision investigators assist with the investigation which is ongoing.
