School Goes Into Hold And Secure Due To Armed Men In Camo

(CALEDON, ON) – On this date, at approximately 12:15 pm, the Caledon OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) were advised by the Peel Regional Police Service of a sighting of 2 males dressed in camouflage clothing, wearing hunter orange toques and vests, north of the Mayfield Community Centre on Bramalea Road. Further information revealed that the males appeared to be carrying hunting rifles. As a precautionary measure, Mayfield Secondary School and James Grieve Public School were placed in hold and secure while the OPP conducted the investigation.

At 12:50, the hold and secure measures were lifted once the investigation was completed and the OPP were able to determine that there was no threat to public safety.
