SAGAR – Drunk Driving

(HALIBURTON, ON)- On Thursday, April 21, 2016 at approximately 9:20 pm a vehicle left County Road 21 in the Township of Dysart et al. The vehicle entered the ditch while attempting to turn into a private driveway.

Police attended the scene and during the investigation it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. A demand was made for a roadside test. The result of the test was a “fail”. The male was arrested and transported to the Haliburton Highlands Detachment for further testing.

Paul SAGAR, 69 years old of Quinte West, Ontario has been charged with:

· Driving While Ability Impaired

· Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on June 1, 2016. In addition to the criminal charges, the accused was issued a ninety day administrative drivers licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
