(POWASSAN, ON) – On October 24, 2014, Powassan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to assist a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) inspector with a vehicle stop at MTO scales, Highway 11, Municipality of Callander.
A safety check was being conducted on the vehicle. The Hyundai Sante Fe was severely tilted backwards.
Further investigation revealed that the driver and passengers had attended a railway line on Highway 522 and loaded up 205-22.5 pound metal plates in the vehicle. The plates were stamped with CN.
Dawn BAXTER, age 38 of North Bay, Ovila MARLEAU, age 46, of North Bay and Billy PATON, age 25 of North Bay have been charged with possession of property obtained
