(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Saturday July 27, 2013, at 1 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) program at the intersection of Hwy 8 and Perth Road 180 in Dublin.
Shortly after 1 a.m., a south bound Chevrolet SUV approached the intersection from Perth Road 180. The vehicle slowed and then accelerated through the stop sign controlled intersection. Officers followed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The male driver was found to display signs of impairment. The driver was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
