Ryan HEATHER – 220 in an 80, Flight From Police, Breach

(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON.) Since June 2013, Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) have been receiving complaints regarding a blue motorcycle travelling between Woodstock and Embro numerous times daily at high rates of speed with the motorcycle being operated in a dangerous manner. Police have been actively searching for the motorcycle and the driver since that time.

On July 25, 2013, the motorcycle was observed again being operated by the driver in a dangerous manner and as a result a warrant was requested to apprehend 35 year old Ryan HEATHER of Embro.

Subsequently, on this date a member of Oxford County O.P.P. observed the same blue motorcycle travelling at an excessive rate of speed. The officer activated their mobile radar unit and obtained a reading over 220km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The description of this motorcycle matched the one that Oxford County O.P.P. has been searching for.

As a result of the warrant, the male was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

Dangerous Operation – Motor Vehicle (2 counts)
Flight from Police Officer
Breach Probation (2 counts)

And under The Highway Traffic Act with:

Race A Motor Vehicle

The male is currently being held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock.
