At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Friday August 15, 2014 police observed a male operating a green GMC Sierra in the area of Richmond Street and Horton Street. The male was driving in an erratic manner and reaching speeds in excess of 100 kilometers per hour.
Several officers attended the area and had to take evasive maneuvers to avoid collision with the vehicle.
The vehicle eventually struck a cruiser head on, then collided with a hydro pole. The male driver was subsequently arrested.
As a result, Ryan Frederick, 23 years old of London, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while having excess of .80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
There were no injuries as a result.
