The London Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section conducted an investigation after receiving a complaint from a citizen on July 22, 2014 that a male had taken inappropriate photographs of her 11 year old daughter. This male was known to the citizen that made the complaint, but can not be identified to protect the identity of the victim. The photographs of the 11 year old were taken inside a residence and not in a public place.
Further police investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at a residence in the city of London on July 25, 2014. As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old man was arrested on August 14, 2014 and charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
make available child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(3)
possess child pornography contrary to section 163.1(4)
