Pharmacy Robbery Arrest

On Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a male entered the London Cares Pharmacy at 140 Oxford Street East and demanded narcotics from the pharmacy staff. A handgun was seen but not used. The male made off with an unknown quantity of narcotics. There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.

On Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at approximately 2:45 p.m. Matthew Daigneault, 27 years old of London, was arrested in the area of Sarnia Road and Western Road by members of the London Police Service Emergency Response Unit in relation to the robbery. Subsequent search warrants were executed in relation to this investigation, and narcotics were recovered.

As a result of the investigation, Daigneault is charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of uttering threats to cause death, one count of wearing a disguise, one count of using an imitation firearm while committing an indictable offence and one count of carry a concealed weapon.
