(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), County of Brant detachment officers were called to a robbery at the Bank of Montreal in St. George.
On Wednesday September 18th, 2013 at approximately 10:28 a.m. officers were advised of a bank robbery and were given a description of a suspect vehicle. Within minutes an officer located the suspect vehicle travelling south bound on Brant Road. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver ignored the emergency lights and siren. The vehicle was stopped at Brant Avenue and Waterloo Street in the City of Brantford. Both of the occupants attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended by a co-ordinated effort of Brantford City Police officers and Ontario Provincial Police officers.
Royston VERNEY 34 years of age and Stephen NEESON 43 years of age both from the City of Brantford are facing the following criminal charges
Robbery with Firearm
Disguise with Intent
Dangerous Operation- Motor Vehicle
Flight from Police Officer
The two accused are currently being held in custody.
