ROUTINE PATROL CHECK LEADS TO ARREST

(ASSIGINACK, TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday July 1, 2014 at 3:12 pm Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol of Corbett’s Breach Road in Carnarvon Township when a black pick-up truck was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. Upon stopping and checking the driver of the vehicle an odour of alcoholic was detected. As a result of this traffic stop the driver of the vehicle was arrested for having over 80 mgs of alcohol in his system. He was transported back to detachment for further breath test. As a result of this investigation the driver of the motor vehicle has been charged. Charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with having over 80 mgs of Alcohol is Daniel CRERAR age 58 of Bluewater, Ontario. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of August 25, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay, Ontario.
