(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an impaired driver on Highway 124 in the Municipality of Whitestone.
OPP Investigation revealed that police received a call from a citizen that was following a vehicle on Highway 124, driven by someone believed to be impaired. Officers attended the area and stopped the vehicle.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Ronald PAWELCZYK, 56 years of age from Whitestone was arrested and charged with:
Impaired Operation, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
Driving with more than 80mgs. of alcohol in blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 3, 2016 to answer to his charges.
The OPP are reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
