(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 10, 2014 at approximately 10:15 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2011 Dodge that was travelling westbound in an erratic manner on Wellington Road 109 near Concession 7 in Mapleton Township.
While speaking with the driver, police observed obvious signs of impairment as well detected a burnt odour emanating from inside the vehicle believed to be a controlled substance. The driver was placed under arrest and vehicle was searched. A substantial quantity of hash, hash oil and marihuana was seized.
Further investigation revealed that the male was on an undertaking to abstain from the consumption of drugs except in accordance with a medical prescription.
Ronald LACELLE aged 55 of Brockton has been charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Driving While Ability Impaired by a Drug contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Act and Possession of Cannabis Resin Over 1 Gram contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was transported to an OPP Operation Centre and held for a Bail Hearing.
