(South Stormont) – SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators continue their investigation of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian which occurred today (08Sep14) at approximately 10:30am on County Road 2, South Stormont Township.
A Dodge pick-up truck, driven by an 81 year old male (from South Stormont) was westbound on County Road 2 when it collided with a heavy equipment flatbed trailer which was stationary on the north shoulder of the roadway. A 55 year old male (from South Stormont) standing near the trailer was also struck. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A section of County Road 2 between County Road 15 and Mille Roches Road remains closed to traffic and is expected to be re-opened at approximately 6:00pm. Detours have been put in place.
