(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Sunday, September 8, 2013 at approximately 7:24 p.m., a Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 travelling at a fast rate of speed eastbound on Grey Road 18 east of Rockford, in the Municipality of Meaford. The cruiser’s radar was activated and the Camaro registered a speed of 158 km/hr. The posted speed limit is 80 km/hr.
Richard COOPER, age 31, of Owen Sound, was issued a Summons for racing a motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act. He was also charged with failing to surrender a valid insurance card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence suspended for seven days.
