Residential Fire Sends One To Hospital

(LAMBTON, ON) – On Saturday January 9th, 2016 at approximately 9:44 a.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to attend and assist Enniskillen Fire Department at the scene of a residential structure fire on Eureka Street, Petrolia, ON.

Lambton OPP was dispatched to the 200 block of Eureka Street, Petrolia to assist the Enniskillen Fire Department with a residential structure fire. OPP attended the location and upon arrival the majority of the residence was already engulfed in flames. A lone adult female was reportedly located by witnesses at the front door of the residence where she had collapsed. The female was transported to hospital by Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) where she was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The Office of the Fire Marshall was contacted by Enniskillen Fire Department who advised that they will be attending and conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire. The Lambton OPP will have no further involvement into this investigation at this time.
