(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Friday, January 8, 2016 at approximately 1:18 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break, enter and theft from a residence on Hwy. 26 west of Grey Rd. 18 in the Municipality of Meaford resulting in the theft of a firearm, a Cooey 16 gauge single shot, break action, shot gun with wooden stock.
Sometime between 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5th and 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8th, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence and removed the firearm from a locked gun case. In addition to the firearm, the follow property was taken by the culprit(s):
– Kenmore kitchen stove
– Mennonite Electric Fire Place
– Five bundles of laminate flooring
– Dart Board
Grey County OPP with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit continue to investigate this break-in and ask anyone with information which may assist to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
