(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On July 6th, 2016, Quinte West OPP with the assistance of Hydro One Security personnel arrested two males that were involved in the theft of copper wire from a Hydro One transfer station in Quinte West.
Between the 5th and 6th of July suspects entered a fenced Hydro One compound and removed copper wire to a location near the compound. The suspects returned later on July 6th, to retrieve the wire. Members of the Quinte West OPP attended the area and arrested two men.
Shaun BROUGHTON, 37, and Jason ROBERTSON, 40, both of Trenton, have been charged with the following:
Theft Under $5000 Section 334(b) Criminal Code of Canada
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 Section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada
Fail to Comply with a Court Order.
Both men were released on Promise to Appears and are to schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville on August 18th, 2016.
