(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – An early morning R.I.D.E. check conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) CKL detachment has resulted in a Hamilton male being charged with Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) related offences.
On July 8, 2016 an OPP officer conducted a traffic stop, stopping a vehicle at a R.I.D.E. check on Centerline Road at Peace Road in the former Emily Township. During the investigation the officer determined that marihuana was present in the vehicle.
The ensuing investigation resulted in Leonard HOFMAN, 49 years of age, of the Hamilton area, being arrested and charged with the following offences:
· Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the CDSA.
· Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5 000, contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused will appear in bail court, in Lindsay, on July 8,2016.
