(PEMBROKE, ON) – In the early morning of hours of November 22, 2016 the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Wise Owl Day Care on Isabella Street in the City of Pembroke after a custodian at the day care observed damage to the building and encountered a break and enter suspect inside. The suspect made a threat causing the custodian to leave the building and call police.
The suspect fled prior to police arrival but recent snow assisted the police in tracking and locating the male a short distance away. As a result of this incident 22 year old Matthew BILSON of Pembroke is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
Break and Enter with Intent
Uttering Threats
Mischief Under $5000 – 2 counts
Fail to Comply with Probation – 3 counts
He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until his next court appearance on December 20, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
