(GODERICH, ON) – A 25-year-old male from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh remains in custody and is facing a number of criminal charges following his arrest late last week.
On Thursday, September 28th, 2017 just after 4:00 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter in progress at an Oxford Street property. The homeowner reported to police she observed on her home surveillance system a male attempting to break into her backyard shed.
Police responded to the scene however the male fled the property. As police were searching for the suspect they received a second call from a homeowner on nearby Tilt Street. This witness reported a male was attempting to break into his residence through a basement window.
Police patrolled the area and located the male suspect a short distance away. Subsequent police investigation revealed the male also tampered with another window screen at a second property located on Tilt Street.
Police have since charged 25-year-old Brent LAWRENCE with three counts of Trespass by Night, two counts of Break, Enter – Commit Mischief, two counts of Mischief and one count of Fail to Comply with a Recognizance of Bail. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 16, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
